A romantic, timeless wedding at The Wheeler House in Ball Ground, Georgia.

When brides plan a wedding, one of the “major” things they fret: the weather. Will it pour on my wedding day? What if we don’t do a first look? Will my hair and make-up get ruined?

Well friends, I have photo proof that rain and beautiful wedding photos can go hand-in-hand. But first, here’s a little back story:

I first met Hayley & Ben at Land of a Thousand Hills coffee shop in Roswell, Georgia. From the get go, I knew these two had exquisite taste and their wedding would be nothing short of elegant. (I wasn’t wrong 😉). We then planned their engagement session in Downtown Roswell, Georgia. If you haven’t already checked out those photos, you can see them here. After spending just an hour with them, there was no doubt in my mind that these two were made for each other. Ben handmade this awesome wooden ring box and Hayley always had the biggest grin on her face when she looked his way.

Fast forward to their wedding day and the forecast was clear, but as always, I brought my stash of clear bubble umbrellas with me. (Photographers- stock up on these babies. They will save your life). Hayley & Ben chose to see each other for the first time at their ceremony. Couples ask me all the time which I prefer and to be 100% honest, I don’t mind either way. I would much rather y’all stick with your guns and do whichever YOU want. Anyhow, so it was game time- the ceremony was starting and all was well. The officiant did a reading of special passages, praying over the couple, and it was time for the exchanging of rings. And the bottom falls out. And I mean POURING. But these two, they didn’t let the rain steal their joy. As they said their vows, the absolutely radiated.

But remember, they didn’t opt for a first look, meaning at this point we hadn’t taken any bride & groom portraits. So after the recessional, all the guests ran inside the Wheeler House for cover. It poured for about 10 minutes, and then the skies cleared. We went straight into family portraits, full bridal party, and then bride & groom portraits. And guess what?! YOU CAN’T EVEN TELL THEY GOT RAINED ON. No lie- see the photos for yourself.

So to all the brides & grooms out there: take note from Hayley & Ben. Embrace the rain, don’t let it steal your joy, and just roll with it. Hayley & Ben- y’all are troopers. Thanks for letting me play a small roll in your big day! And congrats!!
